I've recently got into 80s pop, and am loving it. Being an 80s child I missed out on the tunes first time around. So was wondering if anyone had any suggestion a really good song from back then.

My current list of tracks I'm listening to include:
Cruel Summer - Bananarama
Rush Rush - Debbie Harry
Self Control - Laura Branigan
Straight Up - Paula Abdul
Knocked Out - Paula Abdul

OK, here's some more (and thanks for the trip down memory lane) (these are more of the romantic type songs)

Foreigner: Waiting for a girl like you
Steve Perry: Oh Sherrie
Cyndi Lauper Time after Time
Stevie Nicks and Don Henley: Leather and Lace

Scorpions: Still Loving you
Phil Collins: In the air tonight

aaahhh, so many more, I haven't even stepped in to the party songs.............:)

edit to add: mid to late 80's don't forget about early U2 :)

well i think that pretty much ALL music from the 80s is awesome. but here's a few of my favorites..but i don't know if you would consider them pop or not...

don't you forget about me...simple minds
tenderness...general public
der kommisar...after the fire
no one is to blame...howard jones
turning japanese...the vapors
voices carry...til tuesday
always somthing there to remind me...naked eyes
suddenly last summer...the motels
let's hear it for the boy...denice williams
footloose...kenny loggins
take on me...a-ha
hungry like the wolf...duran duran
kyrie...mister mister
st. elmos fire (man in motion)...john parr
if you leave...OMD
don't dream it's over...crowded house
wild wild west...escape club
I know these might not be what you're looking for, but they are good songs. If you want more girly stuff, try anything by debbie gibson, paula abdul, or tiffany...and of course NKOTB....these are only songs i could think of off the top of my head, but if i dug out my CD collection i would have tons more...i'm an 80s lover, so that's about all the music i listen to... =)
