Yes the tools are of better quality and most the time the teeth in the ratchets are closer range than you can get in any other ratchet which means you can move bolts in tight quarters with minimal ratchet movement, other ratchets in tight quarters sometimes cant move the bolt or nut because the movement is all taken up in the gears, if the dealer that comes to you doesn't get you what you need then ask him for the area reps number and that will usually solve the problem by the next time he comes in.

If the Dealer didn't have the gears in the first place did you tell him to order it? If the ratchet keeps braking have him replace the hole thing ( he can ) I'm a snap-on dealer and if I have two replace the gears more then three times I just replace the hole thing but If it still comes back I know it is the user misuseing it and I will sell him the right ratchet. I'm sorry you had a bad time with that guy.

Great tools.pricey but great.
Snap On tends to have the most arrogant tool men.
just get in touch with Snap On and complain,or just tell your current tool man ,if you have one ,that you arent satisfied and want a brand new ratchet.Quit using a 3/8 when you need 1/2 drive or a ratchet when you need a breaker bar

You pay for the name with Snap-On, there not the best and one of the worst when it comes to there " Lifetime Warranty ". In todays world if the tool doesnt come with a good warranty it cant be sold to a professional mechanic. Call Snap-On directly and chew on some a$$. I have done it before. I will say I do own alot of Snap-On tools and have had good luck with them but I dont buy them new anymore and rarely even buy them.

Snap-On is good when it comes time to take your money but I have yet to find a dealer that provides good warranty or tech support. As with any job there are people in the chain above your dealer. Keep asking for the "next guy up" until you get your problem resolved. It seems to be the only way to get what you want from Snap-On.

sounds like you need to use a larger ratchet, snap on tools are great tools, I break mine from time to time, get repaired or replaced whenever they do. other tools like craftsman break, so do matco and mactools.
I prefer Snapon, but own others like craftsman, mac, matco, proto, napa, stallwille, hazet, etc etc.
Its a preference thing, but If your a professsional tech you will find out that craftsman will not withstand the day to day abuse that a tech will put his tools thru, and for speciality tools, snap on as a bigger and better variety for most makes and models, all though Stallwille and Hazet are hands down the German car tool supplier

i am a snap on macto cornwell tools guy living in NZ where good tools are hard to find

my opinion is to contact snap on and tell them that you are a very unhappy custom let them know what happened and it this **** service and to solve this problem asap as you do not give your customers a bad car as a swap of a good one just because the brakes are worn out do you and what he say if you did that it is the same situation because the tools earn you money and customers car earn them money to get work think about you have wrights to

hi my husband has thousands of pounds worth of snap on tools as he is a auto electrician.
he has never had any problems with his tools except for one and that was his multi meter. the guy gave him a second hand one and that didnt work either so he gave it him back and the guy replaced it for a complete new one.
it probably helped with the fact my husband spent so much money on tools with this one guy they became quite friendly.
id get in touch with snap on them -selves explain the situation you'll probably find they will sent you a brand new one.
after all snap on tools aren't cheap are they.

Snap on,Mactools, or other fancy ,high price tools does not mean it reliable. you are just paying for the name not the quality of the tools. try using Sear Craftman. their policy is don:t ask policy. they will exchange it without any hassle.their price are cheap too. we have not purchase Snap on,Mac,or Mac Tools for 17 years. tired of wasting big bucks for cheap made tools and half of the time, they don"t have it stock when you return them. when you spend money on Snap ON , the Ceo or President is getting pay Millions from you .his job is sitting on his butt everyday while you work your butt off.
