Yes it was amazingly sad, full of pathos. Certainly a 'must watch' for anyone who enjoyed the series. But I wonder how funny it was?

I ask only cos I was aware that much of the humour relied on a past acquaintance with the series, and some of the sight gags were re-treads of what had already been done: compare laying the floor with the wallpaper scraping from the series- in both waggling bums and dancing in unison to a musical soundtrack.

The Wake was, however, delightfully celebratory- a truly 'fun'eral few minutes!

I saw it! It was brilliant! Very sad! Poor old Nanna! But how funny was it though! That was the best! I all ways liked the Royal Family, and that was great! Dave reading the erotic fiction was pure comedy genius!

Yes I watched. I thought it brilliant. Especially Nanas line "She had soup of the day which was Friday!"

There is no new series planned for The Royle Family, this was a one-off special.

It was just as funny but quite sad too. Really enjoyed it but it doesn't look likely there'll be another series, Thought Caroline Aherne looked older than Sue Johnson!!!

I had a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye when Nana was having her hair done and she started thanking Barbara. So sad she died.
