Actually, contrary to previous answer, Dr.'s now know that your ability to conceive not only lessons significantly post-35, but it also continues to lesson as each year passes. The good thing about having 2 children is that clearly your hormones, organs, and husband's sperm have all functioned correctly. The bad news is that not only does time take its toll on our organ systems, but other factors can add to the problem. If you've gained some weight, if your thyroid has slowed a little, if you're under more stress (like with 2 kids!), etc. All of those things can hurt your chances to conceive.
I'm 40, going on 41, with one child, and the following was the infertility program I've been on:
3 rounds of Clomid,
3 rounds of IUI with Injectible FSH & HCG
3-4 rounds of IVF.
With the completion of this entire program, my Dr. gave me a 30-40% chance of conceiving. Frankly, not great odds, but not 0, either!
Good Luck!

It is less likely obviously because of your age but my mother concieved at 40 after 5 years of trying. If you don't want to go to the doctor than purchase some ovulation kits from the chemist or ebay. If they all come up negative you will know you are having a fertility problem and then see your doctor. If they are positive then sex on those days will make it far more probable to concieve. Good luck and my parents tried IVF 8 times before concieving naturally. It can happen so the less you stress the more likely it will happen! I really hope I helped. xx

your chance are the same as most women above 36
but since you have been trying for 2 years
have you check with a doc to find out if anything is wrong
if you have not you should
