I am a musician...
now that I'm older not a working one...(tough out there for musicians)
but when I was younger as a working musician I did my share of drinking and drugs.
Although I never did any hard drugs I did see people around me do heavy drugs...sometimes with a fatal outcome.
I am not a drummer and I know this may be a stereotype but in all truthfulness I never met a drummer that didn't drink himself into constant oblivion.
I don't know what it's like out there now but 25 yrs ago being a working musician was like a never ending party.

Some old school bands were into drugs and alcohol and are sober n clean now. However, to answer your question, I'll say, it depends on the personalities of the people themselves. Some musicians prefer booze and drugs, while others do not.

All stereotypes have a grain of truth to them, but on the whole, they tend to break down when applied to all members of the group

Well, it depends on the person I think. Some bands do drugs and drink, I think, ha, that rhymes.

I would pretty much agree with that question. I'm pretty sure jimi hendrix did some, because he did have that song "purple haze"
