One thing has nothing to do with the other.I hate to put it this way but what if one of your children where to be in an accident and be paralyzed?Stem cell research could supply a way to regenerate nerve cells. So your child would be able to walk again some day.Would you change you mind then?

I thought the point was to use the stem cells in order to search for cures for certain diseases. Human cloning is just outright unethical, and I'm sure it is illegal. I like Michael J. Fox, and I am for Stem Cell Research, but I'm sure I'm pretty ignorant about the whole continuum of the ideology. I think it will be beneficial, and I also think that all medical practices are taken too far by some extremists within the field. So why can't we use this practice for its beneficial purposes, and try as best as we can to deter the negative practices that may result from it?

I do understand that cloning could happen, but unless you have watched someone you love die with a disease that could be easily cured by the use of stem cells you wont be able to grasp the real concept of it. There are many diseases that do not kill a person but are terminal just the same. Althzeimers is one of them. My whole family on my dads side has been effected by this horrible disease. They have said that stem cells could hault or reverse the symptoms of the disease. I lose a little piece of my dad each day, and when I think that maybe It could stop by using stem cells I say they should use them. I think the benefits truly outweigh the negatives.

Because our life spans are so short I don't have a problem with stem cell because I don't want to sit by and watch any of my family members suffer with diseases. If there is a cure thru stem cell then so be it. Cloning OH! well they will do it anyway one of these days. Understand! we cannot stop the gov from doing what they want . I know that sounds cruel and selfish but I'm not really I'm just realistic.

YES, believe in it 100%, we all have to answerer some day for what we do, stem cell is with good intent, if those that are evil or wrong in actions, will do what they want anyways, even if doing it in secret, we did not know about the cloning of the sheep, until way after it was done, Cloning is so wrong of any kind, but with or without our knowledge its truly going on,

Not even the scientists know all that stem cell research is capable of, that is why the research is so very needed. It will happen anyway, regardless of the neocons and religious right's stance on this. Does the USA want to be on the cutting edge, or fall behind the French and other industrialized nations in this important endeavor, or are we to be held back by antiquated concepts that have crept their way into our policies and laws?
I get it that you buy what Rush says is truth, but you need to truly consider that he is in the entertainment business, and not the news business.

I am absolutely FOR responsible stem cell research. As with any new frontier in science, there is always the risk that rogue scientists will take the technology where it should not be used. However, if properly controlled and used only for research and other health-related benefits, I support stem cell research 101%.

As far as cloning humans or creating a superhuman, you don't think that many nations are already into this. Who knows what goes on in top secret projects. So, in my mind that aspect of stem cell research is being done as we speak.
As far as stem cell research for medical purposes, yes I think it is a good thing as long as it is monitored.

any recearch out there that will cure illnesses is always good however there are bigger more dangerous illnesses that we should worry about
cancer
aids
common cold and flu
and other
as stem cell is a very powerful illness and Im sure that there are ppl that need as much care as possible lets face the scary ones first and worry about cloning and other researches like this later when we can afford it

If stem cells are used from one's self, I have no problem with it. In other words, I donate my own cells and they're used to help me.
Where I have an issue and believe it is unethical is when we push into the arena of cloning and mutilating/killing embryos. This is simply murder - and wrong.
