Contact your local Social Services office and ask for a copy of the leaflet that explains what they do. The complaints/praises procedure is in the back of that.
Good Luck

Firstly you should discuss any action with your legal advisor if you have one.
Go see a lawyer. Get in touch with Fathers for Justice, Citizens Advice, your MP; but remember to always be polite and reasonable at all times or Social Work will say you are a nutter and have you for affray or threatening behaviour.
Go see a Lawyer. This is too important to take third rate advice from idiots on the internet!
Go see your doctor; you may need some mild medication to help you keep your temper and to sleep properly.
You can ask the appropriate social work department for details of their complaints procedures or find the complaints procedure on their web site.
You should only complain about factual inaccrrucies which you can PROVE.
In the end nothing will happen but you may receive an apology.
Discuss this with a Lawyer before doing ANYTHING.

Each state has a board of Social workers ran by the State. There is a way to report to the ethics commitee.

Write to the Director of Social Services outlining your complaint and ask that he checks the report for himself and interviews you in the proper manner and see if he comes up with a better report.
Send a copy of your letter to your local MP and ask for his help in the matter.

I would contact the office where this person works and let them know what has happened. You may want to call the court where this took place and also ask who you would talk to about this and possibly placing a complaint on them.

i think you are wrong stargazer, i can think of a number of instances where social workers weren't 'spot on' at all.Not personally, but people i know and cases on TV, due to the fact social workers didn't do their job correctly. I don't know who you would complain to, but find out and make sure you do it. If someone if going to employ a person to do such an important job, they should at least be thorough, after all, the police would be wouldn't they.I can understand you're feeling frustrated! good luck.

Contact the agency this person works for and ask to speak to their supervisor to report them for not conducting a thorough investigation.
