Don't you just hate those prejudice answers about Nigerians? My sweetheart is from Nigeria, too......... all these comments.........

Here's just a quote from an article on the Nigerian Virgin Airlines. Yes, it does say something about BTA. Just send an email to the address below, to find out what they say about BTA being optional or not.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of STB, Mr. Tony Elumelu, urged customers to take advantage of the bank's business relationship with Travelex and Western Union to plan a smoother travel experience.

"STB staff could also provide a number of travel-related financial services such as Personal Travel Allowance (PTA), Basic Travel Allowance (BTA) and money transfers at Virgin Nigeria offices across the country," Elumelu explained.

Standard Trust Bank PLC emerged as Virgin Nigeria's preferred partner in this travel convenience revolution after a careful consideration of the proposals of a number of leading banks in the country.

Put 'BTA' in Google!
I'm sorry to say that it sounds like a scam to me... I don't think you should pay her any money until you've checked into it more!
