i play the guitar and i heard someone say "why get into music, let alone anything, if you dont want to be the best?" so i thought "ok, i should be the best. but then i read that jimi hendrix never wanted to be the best, he just wanted to feel the music.should i just have the same thought as him so i could have a good reputation. ok this doesnt make any sense... i dont know how to explain this..

Jimi is dead. Be yourself and do what you want for the reasons that are true to you, even if it's the same as someone else or not.

I get it.

No, you shouldn't be into something for the same reason other people are - unless that happens by coincidence.

Instead, ask yourself this - would you rather be the best or happy?

Or, which would you rather be:

-As good on guitar as Jimi Hendrix, but you would hate playing guitar

or

-Playing as well as most people play, but having a great time doing it?

Well in my opinion if u really are interested in playing guitar then there is nothing wrong in taking inspiration from Jim Hendrix's work. Also anything that you do should put in your best in it and not what's best on international scale. So there is certainly no problem if you are into something for the same reason as others.
After all the reasons people take up some professions is because they want to be like others and because they consider them like an ideal ...eg wanting to be like Diana ..mother Teresa..etc

agree?

Jimi Hendrix did that because the things suited to him but his success tips will not always work for everybody, won't they?

No matter you have the same or different reasons to others, as long as you try to be yourself and make the best out of it, you'll be successful.

You only stick with something if you love doing it and if you love playing the guitar you should try and play your best every time.
