well there's the famous Manghopir Hills which are visible from quite some distance.. they are located in the suburbs of karachi...
desert? well the only desert i can think of near karachi is the thar desert..!
there are also hilly areas opposite karachi university... hills were cut to form roads near hill park and areas near pechs/nursery
