Given that none of us know your preferences or opinions on television enetertainment, this is an almost impossible question to answer. However, given that in the last 5 years, quite a bit has changed, I would guess that there are probably many programmes which you would enjoy. If you were to subscribe to Sky I'm pretty sure you would find something you liked, simply because there is so much choice.

I would suggest flicking through a TV guide, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Aloha from Down Unda!

I'm a big fan of television & personally suspect that without 3 episodes of CSI (CSI, CSI Miami & CSI New York), 3 episodes of Law & Order (L&O, L&O SVU, & L&O Criminal Intent), Cold Case, NCIS, 5 editions of Letterman per week, My Name Is Earl, Scrubs, 60 Minutes, 5 editions of Good Morning America per week, The Simpsons nitely, plus 5 - 10 movies per week, along with several other news (A Current Affair), comedies & dramas which escape my immediate memory, I WOULD GO [absophuquenloutly] COMPLETELY N U T Z!

I AM POSITIVE that there are more programs like MONK & NYPD BLUE etc which are of emmense social redeeming value & if I didn't have a good program on at any specific hour, I'm extremely happy to view my online schedules with 20 channels to investigate upcoming movies & specials on National Geographic or the Cartoon Network ('I. R. Weasel' & 'Cow & Chicken'!) While online with the computer, the music & CONSTANT stream of extraordinary fabulous beautiful runway models of "Fashion TV" is a VERY pleasent alternative to JACK FM or ABC Classic music!

Five years without TV for me sounds like you're incarcerated, in a coma or dead! It sure wouldn't be 'voluntary' for me to be without TV since I can remember. Even when I worked 18 hours a day, I made sure to set the VCR for Letterman & some movies! Life is barely worth living without being ABLE to catch TV! Granted, Australia isn't the best place for me but we DO get SOME TV!8-o

There is a lot of good (or even excellent) TV and a lot of rubbish as well. What is excellent for some is rubbish for others. The last thing anyone would want to do is take notice of what a "TV critic" might say - what a bunch of time wasters they are.

If you aren't missing it then you are not missing anything so carry on not watching on the other hand you could start to watch and see if anything interests you.

We have 5 basic channels plus a freeview which is basically for free. I do not watch any of those hundreds channels anyway. There is nothing worth watching. If there is a whole movie in the evening, there are so many adverts that it actually puts me off. I have lots of dvds so if I want to watch something I watch it when I want and what I want. None of those big brothers and lost series and others are worth watching. It is a waste of our precious time!

TV is an important part of the modern life and a great information source. You just need to be selective. Not having a TV is just avoiding a problem... and easy way out. It is though better than being a TV-addict. To answer your question: Yes you are missing on something worthwile...

Loosen up, get an LCD-TV and subscribe to a good TV magazine. Let your life happen and enjoy it.

not really. i just have a few shows that i watch from time to time. but other than the news (keeping up to date on world events and issues) then u arent missing anything. and u can always read a paper or go online to update urself with the news. so be one of hte few and actually pick up a book in ur free time instead of vegging on the couch.

In Australia they have this awesome show called Meerkat Manor. They follow a family of meerkats around, and it's actually quite dramatic and entertaining. Other than that... not missing a thing.

I haven't had a television for ten years.
I know how to cook and I do not need to know how to decorate my flat.
Stick with it, my friend. Go out and hear the birds sing.
