well here within the last 3 months i have been having all they signs of being pregnant. after i had my son 13 months ago i got the IUD put in and now im gaining lbs i cant wear most of my normal clothes anymore i am having to wear some of my old maternity clothes. i called my old doc he said he wanted me to get checked out. but my insurance is still pending. My mom got pregnant with my older brother when she had an IUD in. i know my syptoms are not side effects of my IUD my old doc told me that. if i am pregnant i am 3 months and a few days. what happends if i am pregnant? what should i do when i find a clinic to go to? should i ask for a blood test or ultrasound? see my HCG level was very low when i had my son i didn't find out i was pregnant till i was 4 months. pluse i am having pain when ever me and my husband have sex. could that mean my IUD is out of place? i never felt were the strings were after i had it put in but i tried and could not fill them but i have short fingers Help!!

Have your husband look, the string can be VERY short and almost immpossible to find. Go take a home preganancy test and then go to a walk in clinic and ask for a blood test. They are very accurate even if you HCG levels are low. If you are pregnant they can save the baby don't worry. You just contact your doctor immidiatly. Even if you need to pay for it and charge it back to your insurance later. It can be fatal to the baby to have an IUD and be pregnant for the whole pregnancy. I have had 3 IUD and the pain you are feeling sometime comes in the first few months, and you do have symptoms in the first few months. I had them and I had different types of IUD's each time. The last one had hormones in the IUD that were reales for 5 years. My cramps were far worse, and I didn't bleed at all except for the first couple weeks after putting it in. I think you are probably just adjusting to the IUD, it is a foreign object in your body, and you probably are not pregnant. The efficiancy rate is higher than having your tubes tied, which Is why I tell people if you can just deal with the pain of the first couple months it is so worth it in the end, to have great birth control you don't have to think about. But please take the tests and contact your doctor, but Ithink it is just your body adjusting and everything will be okay. Good luck

1st your 18 and have had a total of 4 pregnancies by the age of 16-17(since your son is now 13 months and since then you've been on the IUD)!!!

Ne-ways the chances of pregnancy on the newer IUD (since 2000) is 0.1% with sterilization its 0.5% so chances are pretty high that you are not pregnant.

The reason why you might be having discomfort during intercourse could be that you might have an infection. If you never felt your strings you have a problem your DR should have sat there with you and showed you how to look for them and showed you what they feel like.
If you cant get pregnant due to heavy menstruation (which is a new one for a RN with a BA) how did yo manage 4 pregnancies by the age of 16-17?

Low HCG usually means a pregnancy will not progress to be full term but for it to go undected for 4 months is amazing because by then its at the highest it can almost get for ALL home pregnancy test to pick up and def a blood test

You need to go to a doctor NOW--whether or not you have insurance. The IUD will hurt the baby--especially now that the baby is 3 months along--large enough for the IUD to get in the way. Get the IUD out ASAP (assuming you are indeed pregnant, which a doctor can confirm at that appointment)

I just wanted to say that i got my IUD inserted after my third child and at first i couldn't find the strings either. I went to the doctor because i was haveing really bad pains in my stomach. These pains were very similar to labor pains and i was freaking out. After the doctor checked to make sure the strings were in place she said that they were just stuck on the wall of my uterus ( which is totally normal). I now check for my strings once a month after my period. The doctor said that if i felt like i couldn't reach it to simply ask my husband! From everything that you have said it kinda sounds to me that your IUD is out of place. If it does turn out that your pregnant then what ever decision you decide make just know that you're not alone. I wish you the best of luck! Bye. -Stefanie

You should definately go to your doctor.... it sounds like you are pregnant.

I too got pregnant with the IUD because it was slipping out. Luckily, my periods are very predictable so when I missed it I knew and got an appointment to remove the IUD immediately. Unfontunately, I lost the pregnancy, but it was for the best.... an IUD pregnancy is considered high risk.

I got my tubes tied now.... no worries anymore :D

you may want to take a simple preganancy test first - fasted and easiest way to see if you are pregnant
at clinic, get a blood test to check your HCG levels - they are generally pretty accurate - unusual for them not to be at a certain level to determine pregnancy at 4 months
have your MD check your IUD to make sure it is in the proper place - could be the cause of your pain during sex

i could have my Mirena IUD for 5 years in August. you're able to no longer be traumatic in any respect. After a pair of year your sessions replace into very some distance aside (as much as 3 months and could in basic terms final some days) they have an inclination to be darker brownish blood on the start and then the brighter purple... yet now and lower back in basic terms the brownish colour. I asked and asked with the aid of fact i thought it became weird and wonderful, yet they reassured me that that's common and for in basic terms approximately 5 years I even have had the proper comparable subject as you're describing at cases and no toddlers. intercourse would reason get issues "shifting" at cases... Edit: a great style of the time i would be unable to locate my string and the 1st annual examination after having it placed my wellness care professional could no longer locate it the two so she did an ultrasound and it became there, with the aid of fact the string has reappeared and all is stable. whilst uncertain take a being pregnant attempt, yet being pregnant with the IUD is amazingly uncommon as is it dislodging without you understanding that it got here out, nonetheless some human beings do expel theirs without their understanding. A neglected era with the IUD isn't uncommon in any respect, cramping isn't uncommon, brown blood isn't uncommon and not being waiting to locate the string isn't uncommon, i for my area do no longer think of you're able to be traumatic, yet take a attempt and confirm. Your sessions will by no potential be well liked by the Mirena and could fantastically plenty be non-existent after the 1st year with it in. with the aid of fact it does reason the type of drastic shrink on your sessions i'd for my area be greater traumatic a pair of standard popular era than the lack of ability of one as this would point out that the IUD is lost. a rapid medical doctors appointment or being pregnant attempt will a hundred% positioned your ideas comfy!
