Rear Window. It was the first movie that I ever saw Grace Kelly in and thought she was so beautiful and classy. And I love Jimmy Stewart in just about anything!

I like "Rear Window" because Jimmy Stewart reminded me of myself a little in that movie.
I also liked "The Man Who Knew Too Much", but I don't remember if that was Hitchcock or not.
"The Rope" was really suspenseful. I found myself hoping that the murderers didn't get caught.

I'm such a Hitchock fan it's difficult to pick just one favorite---
Vertigo--I love Jimmy Stewart and Kim Novack---great suspenseful movie filled with twists....also great scenes of San Francisco and Northern California
North by Northwest--classic Cary Grant and Eva St. Marie--again filled with suspense and a bit of humor
Rear Window--again, I love Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly is utterly beautiful
Man Who Knew Too Much--Jimmy Stewart and Doris Day make a great couple in search of their son's kidnappers
Psycho--classic thriller with the best ending

Psycho.
If you haven't, read Donald Spoto's long chapter on Psycho in The Dark Side of Genius: The life of AH. A great analysis of the film, also points out lots of small things one might miss.

"The Lodger: A Tale of the London Fog." One of his earlier films, a silent, featuring the wonderful Ivor Novello and June. Has less of the annoying humor that characterizes some of his later ('40s-'60s) films. He remade it several times, but I've only seen the original.

My absolute favourite is "Marnie". It is such a great story, and the sexual tension between Tippy and Sean is still so hot even so many years later.
It is much more of a "psychological" thriller than some of his other films because it so believable and also so complex.

North By Northwest because it's funny, intelligent and suspenseful. The Rope is also great because you feel like you are at a theater play while watching it.

Psycho. The original. Definitely. Norman Bates, a good-looking guy, who seems nice enough, but turns out to be psycho... I think he's much scarier than things that are supposed to be scary, like when things jump out at you, or gory zombie movies.

North by Northwest. It's funny, sophisticated, and suspenseful. I've watched it many times, and I'll view it again.
