the benefits system.
Why not cap how long you can receive benefits for say five years.
That way teen pregnancy see wouldn't be seen with quite the same financial security as it is now.

The problems is not only in the UK .
It's a world wide problems and the web-size keep on growing.
Industrialised countries got themselves badly hit .
It's a matter of time the developing countriries get hit too.
Which is why survivivors with their children from after world war two must correct the blunders and slip-ups with human errors before we all leave with time in planet of apes.
The young ones will be at loss with their self lack of knowledge
on what went wrong out there will not be able to last into the next century.
If we do not steer the star-ship Planet Earth back on course which had been way off course expose with time.
And time is not on our side.
If we don't do anything about it.
Those children all will be lost in space forever and you can kiss them good-bye leaving behind the new lost city of sex and the sin city in the new Atlantis over the horizon in planet of apes.

Just some ideas:
Crime figures are high because the police no longer 'police.' They are a target -driven rapid response unit.
In England, there are catch-all crimes such as affray which do not exist in Scotland, and of course ASBOS where people are jailed for comitting acts which are not in themselves criminal.
Teen pregnancy is supported by the Government by housing the girls. In the Netherlands, if a girl under 21 has a child, her family has to look after her.
Drug abuse is entirely the fault of lack of effective police action in the past. They are also frightened of the drug barons.
If they only treated drugs, (especially Cannibis), as seriously as petty racial incidents and speeding.
In general terms, it could be said that the social order has broken down because parents no longer parent or feel responsible for their children.
England is the only country in the world where adults live in fear of teens.
I blame the Thatcher / Blair government.

it's coz it's so c.rap living in the uk. i'm from just outside Manchester and believe me things are real bad up in the north west. i'm not surprised everyone wants to move abroad!!
i think youths/younger people fall into all these bad things as society is changing, different things are more acceptable now than they were 10 years ago. and babies are now like fashion accessories for young girls - that's why they're all getting pregnant so early. to fit in with the in crowd! i hate it. you walk down the street and see a young girl with a kid and you can't help but think "is that her little brother/sister or her own kid?"
i think a key cause for the crime rate/drug abuse is boredom. kids have nothing to do so they decide to commit crimes to get a buzz from a police chase. or take drugs to pass the time/escape reality. or they beat someone up to impress their friends. it's so sad. whats the use of a guns amnesty if people keep hold of weapons and still regard them as a symbol of their place in society? the people/gangs who think guns get respect for them!
there's a lot of crime and violence that come from drugs anyway. if the drugs stop being sold/taken then i believe the crime rate will drop dramatically.
what do i know though hey i'm only 24!! it's just my opinion!
=D

Because the government doesn't help the issue: they have taken the power from the parents to discipline children in the name of so called democracy. When discipline is gone out of the society, an anarchy kicks in - and its only gonna get worse before it gets better. Education is not exactly the greatest either and once again the teachers have lost the right to discipline kids. Thats the root of all the bad things in the society.

We're going to the dogs because of the way the government runs the country. Its all cover ups and brownie points. I seemed to notice everytime the government made a bo11ocks of something they brought up fox hunting to try and cover up stuff. Noticeable very much so with Iraq. bLIAR thought...'people are unhappy, lets forget the troops who are dying and save the animals!' So yeah the government is wrong with society, no control where it matters, nothing to keep older kids entertained, the country needs sorting out in general, too many immigrants broken homes and all sorts. We need a government who cares about us enough to sort us out.

We don't actually!!! Teenage pregnancy yes, but Finland has the worst drink problems and Sweden has more reported crime per head!
Also - half of the rest of Europe and the world is living in Britain - so don't blame it ALL on the English!!

Most of the problem is down to loser parents on benefits, who bang out kids for more money and don't give a **** about leading a good example, a recent experience taught me that parents who don't give a monkey's about dicipline end up with brats and thugs,
Parents can't solve all the problems but giving a damn about your children would be a good start.

Britain is the best country in the world....
...if it was'nt there would'nt be so many people from other countries begging to get here by hook or by crook or by arranged marriages.
America has the same problem for the same reasons.
Would all us Brits and Americans be clammering so hard to get into Romania, Pakistan or Mexico.

Lack of discipline in the home. I do not mean the rod of iron stuff, I mean not indulging or giving in to our children too readily.
Have you ever been in the company of an Italian family. They put us to shame they really do. Strong sense of family, respect and love. Making them perfect role models.
We only have ourselves to blame. Spare the rod and spoil the child. The rod does not mean smacking etc., but denying things the children really want.
