My brother is one , and I really wanted to take him trick or treating for his first "Real" Halloween (tommorow, last year he was too young) but I am not sure what is too cold for a 1 year old. He will be wearing his costume and a coat and hat. I dont want to make him get a cold. And what else should I do to ensure he is safe?

Or either , I said my brothers want to do the same thing. So , I may just have him stay in the house and go from bedroom door to bed room door when they get back.

What about when crossing a street, should I hold him or let him go across while still holding his hand?

I would take him out. Its not like he would be going out for long. just take him to a few houses for fun then bring him back home to help hand out candy. I used to go out when i was that little.

I have a 1 and 2 year old . I think it all depends on the weather. If its gonna be 40 or colder id suggest getting a bunch of candy and letting him help hand out candy. That way he will get to see all the costumes but dtill be safe from the cold. Good luck!!

Have him wear pjs under his costume. They fit tightly enough that the costume can go over them, and he will be so cute and warm.

Bring flashlights and use a wagon to cart him around other wise you will end up carrying him. You can decorate the wagon with those light up glow sticks and make it cute and spooky! Stick to ten houses or less and have FUN!!! Just remember to play it by ear and use your own best judgment, and if he starts to get fussy then bring him home and let him watch a Halloween show....

i would just put pjs is a good idea under his comstume or if like my sons costume that i got from the holloween store it is sweat shirt pants material so it is pretty warm i am just gonna have him wear his normal clothes under it.Do make him where the hat. Do NOT LET GO of his hands and make sure you have a flash light Put him in the stoller or wagon if you do not feel like carring him bc when he gets tired of walking that is what you will need is a wagon or stroller from having to carry him. When he is not in the stroller or wagon Always keep him in your eye sight when he is out of the stroller or wagon. Other then that you will be fine
HAVE FUN.

I think 1 year old is too young. He wouldn't understand or remember it.

personaly
I disaprove of the whole thing. no harm in him dressing up at home but I would feel he is to young to take out even with others.
