Google already has a video portal (Google Video)..

Google obviously wanted their portal because they'll make up for the money they spent buying it from the users that go to it.

What really amazes me is that the largest caret diamond found was the size of a golf ball, it costed only 6 Million...is this the age where websites cost more than material?

Google knew that If it did create its own kind of that thing, it would always be 2nd best to youtube

my opiniom: it is one way of getting rid of your competitor..u see, f google made, their own, then they will have to spen money for that...and after which, they still have to compete with youtube...while if they buy youtube, they'll just have to spend a little bit more...minus the burden of developing it, minus the competitor...:)
