Its the brake inner-lock safety sw or the solenoid in the floor shifter,that prevents the shifter from being moved out of park. sometimes softdrinks are spilled and it ends up in the mechanism in shifter jamming it .Just one problem i have seen with these and other floor shift cars.

No that switch is an electric starting switch, called a neutral safety so it will not start in gear, will have nothing to do with it sticking in park that's a trans syndrome or the gear selector leaver is malfunctioning, you mean the brake light switch that will do this make sure the brake light are on when your foot is on the brakes if not bad switch, and then check it with a test light or a qualified shop or the dealer have er towed

yes it could be the brake interlock, but torque lock is also an idea. read your owners manual and there should be a safety release for this. if it gets it out of park move the vehicle and put it back in park and see if its locked again.

It could be in torque lock. have some help and push forward on the car while shifting from park and see if that works.
