You should be fine and still protected and still protected during your 7 day break. If you are worried either call your doctor or simply use condoms for the first 7 days of this new pill. Also to aleviate worries, make sure that the new pills is not just the gerenic, which is the same pill without the label, by doing a simple search on google.

Well it makes sense in theory to just carry on as usual, but it definitely says in the instructions in the Microgynon 30 box (i take those) that when you change brands you should start the new pack w/o taking a break. I'd say better safe than sorry, you might want to use extra contraception for 7 days. Because the doses and everything will be ever so slightly different, it might not follow on perfectly like if you were taking the exact same pill.

I would advise using extra contraception, for the week after taking the new pill, just in case. Better safe than sorry, eh? The reason I say this, is that most pills usually advise that you start taking the first pill on the first day of your period, so then you are protected, rather than if you start taking it at any other time during your cycle. You might also want to ask your Dr., when you see him/her again, why they changed your pill. Its unusual that they changed it without discussing it with you first...

4get the pill hun, ask your doctor to fit the mariner coil, its tough going in the early stages with long irregular periods but after 6mths you will stop having periods completely.
