Did we really land on the moon?

Watched a programme that has lead me to believe no-one ever has. What do yo think?

We definitely have. I've read the same things, and despite the flimsy evidence against it, there is one thing against it that I love:

The astronauts placed mirrors on the mood that aim back at Earth. These are used to shine laser beams on, so we can measure the moon's "wobble." The mirrors are still there, and the laser can do a bounce back anytime anyone wants to. The level of automation didn't exist in the 60s to send this package remotely.

What is more, the Soviet Union sent satellites around the moon. If they could have spotted evidence that we really didn't go, they would have blared it loudly to the world that the Americans were liars and cheats.

Yes. There were six manned moon landing: Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15,16, & 17. Apollo 13 did not land due to very serious technical problems.

I encourage you to look at the educational and profession credentials of the people who claim that the six landings were a hoax. Then compare them to the those of the people who actually did go to the moon. The hoax-mongers are generally working outside their limits. The most recent film, the one you watched I suspect, was made by a young film director who just wanted to make a name for himself. He has no scientific or engineering training of any kind.

Here are some very practical reasons why it wasn't a hoax.

1) If we did go to the moon, why have we never returned?

a) We did return. Five more times.

b) I used to go skiing at Crested Butte, Colorado every year. Because I don't go any more, does that mean that I never went?

c) The "moon race" was an extension of the cold war. It was mostly about national prestige. We got there first and achieved our primary objective. There was some good science: surveys, measurements, sample collection. But it was mostly about being there first. Once we achieved our primary objective, there was no political will to go back. There still isn't. Perhaps, if we discover He3 or something else valuable, there will be.

2) In 1972, there was a politically motivated burglary of a hotel room in the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. There were only about six or eight people who knew about it. However, those people, including Richard M. Nixon, the President of the United States, failed to keep that burglary a secret. It exploded into a scandal that drove the President and a number of others from office.

If six or eight people couldn't keep a hotel room burglary a secret, then how could literally thousands of people could have kept their mouths shut about six faked moon landings? Not just one moon landing, but six of them!

3) Even if NASA and other government agencies could have faked the six moon landings well enough to fool the general public, they could NOT have fooled the space agency or military intelligence types in the USSR. The Soviets were just dying to beat us. If the landings were faked, the Soviets would have re-engineered their N-1 booster and landed on the moon just to prove what liars Americans are. Why didn't they? Because the landings were real and the Soviets knew it.

America did not land on the Moon. We payed billions of dollars for the 360 foot Saturn 5 rocket so we could look at it and say wow that is a big rocket. We kept approx. 400,000 technicians, scientists and construction contractors quiet, with zero leaks to the public. The rocks that we thought that came from moon and have proved to be from the moon are really from the Pacific Ocean.

Other Conspiracies to think about:

1. The Jews did not suffer in Germany because there was no Holocaust. Actually it was the Jews that was torturing the poor blond haired deprived Germans. Those tattoos on the Jews arms and hands that are still alive today (by the grace of God) are really there because they want to be hip.

2. We knew the Japanese were going to bomb Pearl Harbor before they did. I mean come-on President Roosevelt liked the thought of our boys baking inside the Battle Ship Arizona before they died. The President was looking for a better way to get a good nights sleep.

3. The Mafia whacked JFK, via the Russian connection, via the Cuban connection.

4. Aliens landed in Roswell and we transported them to Area 51 to back engineer their technology, where do you think the stealth air craft came from? Again, we kept it secret by brain washing the thousands of workers who were in on the scam.

5. The Moon we see every night is really not there along with the planets and stars as well the Planet Killing Asteroids. Those were put there by the evil United States to toy with our minds.

6. Fossils of early homosapiens, homoerectus and earlier models were put their by evil paleontologists, athropoligists, and assorted rock hounds looking to enhance their careers, Creation is the real objective reality.

7. America is a conspiracy and is a fake country and none of us Americans really live here.

I've always believed that the moon landing was real, and still do.....however with all the stuff that is becoming apparent in the way of gov lies nothing would surprise me.
That being said if it was a fake it was an extremely good one, and still has me pretty sure we did. And I have thought about it quite a bit, looking at films, research on moon rocks etc, as well as programmes, maybe including the one you refer to, that suggest it was a fake.-on balance I think we did.

I think you shouldn't believe everything you see on tv.

Conspiracy theories are generally made up by people with nothing better to do. Which begs the question as to what I'm doing on here...but then I'd answer that by saying that I'm on here to help dissuade you from their argument or suggestion.
