A blackhead results when dead skin cells and sebum block a hair follicle near the surface of the skin.
The mixture of pigment (the protein that gives skin its color)
from the dead skin cells and sebum makes a blackhead dark,
it is not dirt that can be washed away.

Wash the face with a medicated soap and lukewarm water to reduce the oiliness of the skin surface, so as to eliminate chances of infection.

Washing must be followed by a more thorough cleansing to dislodge hardened sebum and keep the pores clean.

Blackheads should be treated only by a doctor to avoid infection or scaring. He or she will squeeze out the plug of sebum and dead skin cells from the blocked hair follicle using instruments that will not harm your skin.

Try putting oatmeal (uncooked) in a cloth bag and tie it shut. Wet it with warm water than use it to gently scrub your face. Focus esp. on the blackheads. This should soften them and they will fall off or you can gently remove them. Pat dry.

This should be repeated as often as needed. The oatmeal bag should be emptied and refilled at least once a week to keep it fresh and clean.

Also, don't wash your face more than twice a day, as you'll irritate the skin. I think natural things work best. You don't need toners and all that. Commercial products may produce results faster, but your skin will either become addicted, or it will get used to it and require something stronger next time.

Black heads suck! Careful about using Clearasil Ultra-it may sound so great but it takes away many of the skins natural oils and drys up your face-and the worst part is since your face is drained of it's oils it thinks it needs to produce more, which won't help impurities. I suggest you steam bathe, which will open up your pores. Gently exfoliate afterwards and they should be gone in a week tops. Another really important tip for success is to drink at least 2 litres of water a day-I know it sounds like loads but hydrated skin goes a long way!
Hope I helped!

A good cleansing skin care regiment. You MUST do these things: cleanse, exfoliate, toner and oil free moisturizer. Use a line that all works together, don't get a hodgepodge of stuff. The first 2 are self-explanatory. You have to cleanse and then get the dead dry skin cells off your skin. The toner lifts dirt and oil out of pores. When the pores are clean, they are minimized and smaller which keeps black heads out. You can easily strip oily skin of necessary oils if you use too much astringent=so use a good oil free moisturizer. It will take several weeks of this regiment to get the pores clean, so don't give up!

get a scrub that you can use daily from clearasil, its a black head reducer, usually it comes in a purple and black bottle. it works great! it will get rid of them, and keep you from getting them. the way it works is, it has these little beads in it, and those help take out the black heads, careful if you have very sensitive skin tho, cause it might turn your face red

Try rubbing a slice of lemon after washing your face, and leave it on for some time. You can rinse after a few minutes. The lemon cuts through the oils and keeps them from settling in your pores.

just keep your face clean, wash it more than just in the morning and night, exercise - sweating will open the pores and get out some of the dirt clogging substance
