Last year I saw on a TV program a kind of arga fire that heated the water and radiators which could be fueled by anything at all, I was well impressed but cant think what they were called. The chap on the TV said that the fire would burn anything from logs to rubbish, old cans and all...any ideas good people?

I remember hearing of a guy who bought a multifuel fire from France. It did everything from heat the water to heat the room and boil kettles.
It ate fuel like there was no tomorrow, his children cadged bundles of newspapers until his garage was like a scrapdealers, He bought a chainsaw and cut down every tree for 2 miles radius.
Took a week off work to cut logs, and was thinking of employing an axeman.
He denuded the countryside for 5 miles radius, then did something intellegent, he got oil-fired central heating installed, pulled out the blackmailer and gave it the heave-ho.
The trees eventually grew back, and he was able to put back all the clutter that had been in the garage before the arrival of the monster, his car is still in the driveway.

Sounds like an Incinerator to me- It would take more fuel to burn a can that the can could possibly produce- in heat- Rubbish will produce a foul odor.
