I saw some from BarelyThere call "Jeanouis" that guaranteed no panty lines under jeans. They were not thongs, but sort of a low cut shaped thing.
Other than that, thong would be best.

To recap:
1. Go commando.
2. Wear g-string/thong
Other options:
3. Wear thinner panties*
4. Wear thicker/looser jeans*
* Not all jeans/panties have the problem of VPL
5. Have you considered Spanx? These will help for a variety of "fitted" pants/skirts when you'd like to have something underneath but that aren't hose with feet. They come in a variety of lengths and other modificiations to suit your every need.
I really should be paid for this. Oh well. :)

I use to work in an all male State prison, so believe me I could not have this problem so this is what I recommend.
Three things:
wear a thong
wear a bikini panty
OR buy panties
(at maidenform) Control Thongs eliminate pantie lines and offer firm tummy control.

What i do is wear thongs, I find them very comfy, but if your not interested, or find them uncomfortable then try to get hold of some seamless panties. You can get them at La Senza right now, they leave no panty lines at all!

Wear the boyshort type of panty. VS has nice ones at 5/$25.

ouch, sad but true, it's thong (butt floss) time. A pretty decent alternative is the "no show" panty from the Victoria's Secret catalog (not in stores.) It's not perfect, but it's a LOT more comfortable!

boyshorts, thongs, or Victorias secret has great non visible panty lines 5 for 25.

Granny panties.... and also don't worry about stopping panty lines, it's natural for women to have them because of the way our panties are made with the cotton crotch.

wear seamless panties.. or use a g-string. i don't recommend the t-back or the thong because its uncomfortable. you may want to use boy-leg panty shorts too...
