Good question, but it's not "us as north americans." Saw 3 is number one in America, not Canada and Mexico neccesarily (remember them?). And in America it's only some people who have seen it, so it's not "us as americans." People are individuals, it's not an indictment of an entire continent that a couple million people like that stuff; Maybe of our culture -that so many can come out (Hostel, Hills Have Eyes, Turistas) and still be mega-popular.
But no it says nothing about "us as north americans" because I'm a North American and I don't like it, so speak for yourself, and I'll do the same.

Each weekends top hits says something about north americans? I liked the weekends of Saving Private Ryan, Lord of the Rings, Troy, and Shindler's List, to name a few.

That you need a good censorship, and take responsibility on it, people around the world are very much inclined to pick up the bad then the good. No good foreign policy you should stop with it is making a mess everywhere, many parents are worried for their kids. I believe US should be the world leader but now is losing a lot of chances exporting ugly stuff, like rap, many young people emulate them. You should think that you got roots in Europe why don't get inspiration from it??????

What does it say about us when our kids wear their pants around their knees? There are so many things that portray us unfavorably that it's hard to know where to begin. Maybe there needs to be a movement to clean up America. Let's quit promoting movies of the kind you're referring to. Let's pull our pants up and cover several other of the bare spots while we're at it. We've become a country of seedy, hedonidtic, low life sluts.
