Facts show that if we don't stop destroying the earth now our next generations will feel the effects. How can we convince ourselves to stop?

on the whole we obviously don't really care. I think it would take a major, major catastrophe. I think billions will have to die before people on the whole take this seriously.

It would take a concentrated effort by just about everyone to move to a more Eco-friendly life style: using mass transit when possible, recycling, working against deforestation, going after businesses that dump pollutants and clean forms of energy. These would definitively help stem global warming.
The "we can do nothing" crowd is either too comfortable with their current life style or too apathetic, so don't listen to them.

I'm sorry to say but it will be one of two things. #1= Greed of the Rich needs to stop. #2 Nature will take over.
I'm sure,and history has proved it before that the Rich/wealthy only change for the better of themself,
Nature will change too but in a much differant way. We all are seeing the changes in nature now only she will increace her storms. Change her climets.Alter the entire Earth in such a way as it maynot be able to support life any more.
Nature is changeing now.....The Rich/Wealthy are haveing the time of thier life.

You people kill me. We, the human race, CANNOT STOP GLOBAL WARMING. We might be contibuting to it but we didn't cause it and we certainly can't stop it. This is a naturally occuring process that's gone on for millions if years and isn't going to stop for our benefit. Remember this...global warming got us out of the Ice Age. Seems like a pretty good trade to me.

We have to feel the effects to stop, but by then it will be too late.
Focus on the big businesses if you intend to fight it not people that leave their TV on standby!

We can't stop, we are humans with insufficient self control, especially since all of us have to agree to change our ways.
so we must wait for the Catastrophic event to occur before we act.
