Did you have a wedding? If all you have is a license of some sort, that is not being married. I am wondering if you thought you were married after all these years with just a license... I have never heard of a "confidential" wedding license. It's called a "marriage license". Sounds like maybe someone wanted you to think you could get married with a fake form that said you were... I am now wondering if some slick talker pulled the wool over your eyes. Oh, my goodness. Would this have been a "confidential" marriage that no one should know about?

Me be wondering if you ever were legally married at all.

What state do you live in? I've never heard of a confidential license in Texas. In Texas just living with someone posing as a man and wife means you are married and would have to have a common-law divorce. So I would say you are married.
