We usually type www. when we r opening web sites.When and why sometimes the sites opens as www2.?What does that mean?

Hello, When you see www2. or www3. those are backup servers for a website. When sites gets millions of hits a day they need to keep the speed fast so they put their site on more servers to balance out the load. It's just a little trick websites do to make things faster.

most often www2 (or www20 for that matter) are just overflow servers or servers that contain different parts of the site... webmasters can use anything they like for the bit before the site name, for instance "forums.macrumors.com". www is just a basic standard signifying a world-wide-web page there.

It means the the web has expanded so much that they have had to open a second web. i all works together but the 2 means that it is part of the secoand net.
