The only thing you are going to accomplish is making your girlfriend look cheap--and you by association! A micromini, and a hot look, does not belong at any sort of an office function. You may end up being popular with your guy friends, but you will alienate everyone else, including your bosses. Drop the idea now, before you ruin any chance of advancement you may have with that firm!

I totally agree; you have to go shopping with her. If you buy her a skirt in the wrong size, she could take it as an insult. Buying it too big means you think she's heavier that what she actually is, buying it too small means you want her to loose weight to fit into it.
Take her to the mall or her favorite store. Let her choose a few items to try on. Then go find a mini or two you like while she's in the dressing room. When she comes out to show you an outfit, hold up the skirt(s) and ask her what she thinks about it. This will give you the chance to look at the tags of the things she picks out for sizing information. It will also give you a better chance of finding a style that she will like if you are in a store of her choosing.
Remember that this is a work function hosted by your boss. Wanting her to look hot doesn't mean she should look like a tramp. I think that you should keep the mini respectable in both length and style. Look for a regular mini that hits mid-thigh, not a micro mini that hits at the top of her thigh. You also should look for a skirt that's simple and classic, not a trendy teen style. You aren't going to a night club or bar. Sorry, but micro minis tend to look slutty at a function like this, not hot.
