Water vapour, dust, CO2, CO, SO2, NO2 etc etc the polutants present in the air of the atmosphere and the water vapours and sut particles together forms clouds. Both white and black clouds are made of these things.

See, we all know, clouds are formed due to the evaporation of water, along with the water vapours, other gases also when heated become lighter and go up in to the atmosphere, with the water vapours these form a colloidal state of gases very sparse though, but from the earth, due to the long distance, they are seen in a concentrated form and therefore, when the sunlight shines on them, they look bright white to us from the earth. When the water vapour contents are more, the thickness (dense) becomes an opaque medium for the sunlight falling on them from the upper side ( remember that, we will be on the other side of the source of light),and the clouds will be the obstructing medium, therefore we see the Black clouds, it is nothing very special about the composition of the material or the gases, black clouds are nothing different from white clouds, except that the water vapour contents will be of high degree.

Its just the water density determines the darkness if the cloud contains more and more water the density increases and because of no sunlight in the downside of the clouds because of the non penetration of the full sunlight from the other side it looks like black the white clouds are there with low water or no water only the gases so it allows the sunlight to pass through fully.

Clouds are only moisture, the thicker or deeper they are the darker they appear. Many things are happening in the clouds from the passive convection seen as cumulus, white puffs. To the layers which are stratus & grey, to the active Cumulus nimbus which is hot air being rapidly convected to high altitudes forming thunder storms.

They both consist of water droplets suspended in air. The black ones are dense enough to shut out the sun's light.
