In today's market, you should start looking for a job the first day of school. You'll find it easier to get a summer apprenticeship with the majors while you're in school, something they don't seem to want to offer grads. Lots of recruiting at the major universities that the public never gets to see. Watch the bulletin board on the school campus for opportunities on part time jobs at major corps. Otherwise, it's a b1itch working at 7-11 while you revise resumes during the day.

I applied for jobs before I graduated, which meant I could start work the day after my final exam. Worked for me!
