Greetings!
Unless you have taken Ancient History at your school, you will be surprised to learn that there was a time people actually wrote letters to each other.
So I suppose without Instant Messenger, they might consider doing the same. Of course there is also the phone, but, it makes your ear red.
The importance of Instant Messenger then would be for instant gratification. An immediate exchange of much needed info?
On the other hand, if you have never paced the floor waiting for the mailman to deliver the next episode of someone who has enthralled you with written wit and charm. Who has by pen excited and awakened your senses. Who's very thought makes your body tremble in wanton and desire.
All I can say is You don't know what you are missing!
So drop me a line if you think you want to know more.
Good Luck

The 1st Messenger is NateON.
i) The Remote Assistance.
ii) The NateON, much more than a half of internet people in Korea.
In Korea, there's the most famous blogging site "Cyworld".
The NateON can sync with the Cyworld. It is the most powerfull features of the NateON.

msn messenger is totally unimportant. It is largely used by teenagers to gossip about trivialities. People who actually want to communicate meaningfully pick up the phone, write a letter or email.

Letters? Telephone? The first lets you send additional information, but there's more of a delay. It's very low tech, also, and not dependent on electricity for transmission, although it does require a working postal system. The second lets you impart the words, but not transfer text; faster than a letter and lower tech requirements than a computer.
Just a couple thoughts.
