I was thinking of seeing it with some friends but I would like to know if it is any good. Is it based on any factual information?

It's either this or The Departed.

Which shall it be?

I saw "The Prestige". It was good and had lots of twists and turns in the plot. It's a "period" film. I enjoyed it. I wouldn't buy it on DVD, but I enjoyed it.

Haven't seen "The Departed".

a touch predictable (Fellon and Lord Cwhatever were way too conspicuous, now to not teach that someplace contained in the midst of the action picture I had actual recognized the actor playing Fellon, would have achieved nicely with a more effective perfect makeup), a touch too quick and a touch too darkish (i became particularly horrified at Argier's very last trick), yet damn good and particularly haunting - and not in any respect in a nasty way. As in a lot of situations with Nolan&Nolan, quite a lot not something became lower priced, and that i watched the action picture two times, yet I see a 0.33 and fourth time coming (i have considered keepsake about... 5 or 6 situations, and that i'm not by yet).

See The Departed... The Prestige is sooo not worth the money! The previews made it out to be good... but, honeslty it sucked.
