Because our President says lots of things on teleprompters that he can barely read. Because theres nobody to stop him from telling lies. His party controls the country and mainstream media. He is busy brainwashing and scaring Americans into supporting his regime. He is too far corrupted to care about the future or how his actions are making America not just comical but genuinely resented by many would be allies. To name a few reasons..

You can't win a war when you send out the message to the opposing factions that you intend on leaving and intend on setting a date to do so.
You can't defeat an enemy when it becomes vitally important to protect their rights over the security of your own country.
You can't fight a war effectively if your intent is to cut military spending so that the money can be used for... oh, studying the mating habits of the tsetse fly. (I made that up) but I am sure there is going to be some equally ridiculous program that is going to be funded by money saved from the defense budget. Yes it is taking time to give our men and women newer and more effective equipment. Clinton RAVAGED the Defense Department during his tenure in office. All so he could make the rest of the budget look pretty.
No offense, but the Democrats have been actively standing in the way of winning this War since day 1.

Couldn't? the liberal left in this country has convinced the american people that no one can win, three years ago i heard my president tell the nation that this would be a long and tough battle and that we needed the resolve and the courage to stand up and do what was right. People our very existance is the only reason why we must face the enemy on their land, not ours, which is exactly what we are doing. Do you not hear the voices of terrorist telling you everyday how they want americans dead??? does that mean anything to you??

If he says that Dems can win, or even offer a workable alternative then the republicans can't scare that thin line of independent voters into voting for them.
