Follow your passion instead of the dollar. Marketing is all about figuring out the right product mix, product attributes, brand strategies, brand promises, research, sales numbers, pricing strategies, distribution channels, partnering, etc. etc. If that stuff makes you tick, then go that way. Marketing can be a great field, very lucrative, and it can be a lot of fun.
If you're into numbers and you're the kind of person who likes math not for the calculations but for the beauty of it, consider finance. Finance is also a great career. Obviously if you head toward Wall Street you can get tremendously rich if you're good. But even if you work in corporations, finance is usually all about solving puzzles - what is the most efficient way to manage a warehouse, should the company build a new truck depot, what is the most advantageous source of capital for an expansion into a new market or the development of a new product, etc.
Both are great - just don't make the mistake of allowing anticipated salaries to make your decision. Both fields have super promise for smart, dedicated people. If you are passionate about one and not the other, that is the one you'll be more successful in.

Marketing is a green horn art in India since the government don't facilitate an environment for scientific marketing. Finance is a primitive art which won't tolerate modern financial theories of the west. For this reason it is difficult to say what you should take unless you plan to go abroad and do your studies in this field.
