Agreed. Our foreign policies of preemptive strike and policing the world have got us in a senseless jumble of unproductive, life wasting, resource diminishing and reputation degrading throughout the entire world. Eisenhower warned in the 50's that the war machine we were creating was going to take us places that were scary and that prophecy has been fulfilled. Our economy and our politics are totally intertwined and dependent on the defense industry. The government plays on our fears with propaganda and outright lies to justify aggression in other countries to fuel our defense industry. I live in Texas after spending over 50 years in Southern California and every few days I will read a story about some 80 year old gun carrying guy or gal confronting a robber holding up a convenience store or Wal Mart and shooting him. The authorities arrive and call it a justifiable shooting. I think when more citizens protect the peace like that criminals will think twice before committing there dastardly deeds. In California thugs are roaming the streets and unless the criminal is inside of your property you better not shoot them or you will be the one going to prison.

I agree i think the war isn't so great, but having weapons is okay i guess, i mean if your not using them to hurt anyone. That's the problem i think. having weapons should only be used for self defense. The war right now in my opinion is stupid. I don't like it. but having weapons is alright if your not using them for stupid reasons.

Greetings!

I am (and carry one myself) a supporter of the right to bear arms. However in terms of military actions let me propose this to you.

Had the US Military not been blinded by the whims of an ambitious President, don't you think that they might have disarmed Iraq, while invading and there was an aura of good feeling on the part of the Iraqi's?

So, with that said, and if indeed you can visualize it, then think of what a different place, Iraq would be today.
How many more American soldiers would still be alive, breathing, loving their children and dreaming of the future they so richly deserved.

Good Luck
