What is the application of nano technology in gas and oil industries?

Nanotechnology, for one, would make for better gas mileage and less friction. Making an engine more efficient and cleaner. Also it could help in the recovery process. The drilling and refining would be much quicker and more thourough.

I don't imagine that the oil and gas industry would care much for nanotechnology, given that it will eventually put them out of business.
