I work a lot, but i want to become a counselor for abused children and women. I dont have a lot of time to go to school. I researched schools and found online courses. Would that be effective in pursuing a career in counseling?

that is what I'm doing and yes it's one of the better ways of getting your degree with what you want to do.
look up PCDI and go for your masters degree and study at night and work in the day time.
it's better for you this ways.
