What are the daftest things drivers do?

What are the most annoying things other drivers do, legal or illegal? Here are a few to start:
Driving with fog lights on, in clear weather, even daylight.
Driving with fog lights on and headlights on, especially in fog.
So called personal number plates, especially those like the "X5" on a BMW X5, or "JAG" on a Jaguar.
People who put their hazard lights on when they park on double yellow lines.
Tail-gaters.
Motorway drivers who stay in the middle or outside lane when the other lanes are clear.
Worst of all, drivers who insist on taking up 2 parking spaces, simply because they are too lazy to park properly.
Not always logical, but hey, I'm only human!!

I used to work for liability attorneys, and typed up statements of facts on accidents all the time. The one truly stupid thing people do is drive drunk. The next most stupid is driving under the influence of anything else which compromises your attention, even if a legally prescribed drug or just lack of sleep, and including having a fight with your passenger (almost got one guy killed), reaching for something that dropped off the seat onto the floor, or talking on the cell phone for more than "OK, I'll call you back" sort of quick messages. If music on the radio causes you to pay more attention to it than to driving, switch to classical (no words to sing along with) or turn it off.

When you are behind the wheel of a car in motion, you must be focused on the road ahead and all the surrounding circumstances. You must have your wits about you, or pull over until you do. And don't assume that all the other drivers around you are good drivers who will react quickly and get out of your way if you do something unexpected. Rather, assume that they are all new drivers who haven't a clue as to how to respond to the unexpected, and drive defensively.

13) Road works (some of them drive!)
14) New drivers who clearly haven't the confidence to be on the road
15) People who put big bodykits on cars that would fit on a dinner plate!!
16) BMW Drivers
17) 4x4 drivers (like big cars but 4x4's make no sense)
18) Drivers who sing and dance while driving
19) Short guys whose head is about a foot below the roof of their car (normally these tend to be t**ts)
20) people who think because they commanded a ship when the Spanish Armada invaded means they still should be able to drive.

I used to have a list of 30 most hated types of drivers but I can only remember these 20 now!!!!

I agree with you on all of the points raised, especially the private plate thing, whats the point of having X5 on an X5, you cant read it anyway - cos its too high up, and too much smoke in the way.

Q: Why are the majority of drivers of X5s wrinkly midget women of around 4ft 2, that don't know how to smile????

This is a true story........
On the local radio station, the DJ asked for people to phone in with the strangest things women drivers have done....

this one guy phoned in and stated that he saw a car infront of him and it was moving from lane to lane...Initially he thought it was a drunk driver and was intending to get out the way of the car by passing it.
As he pulled up next to the car...he noticed that it was a woman driver putting her make-up on using the rear view mirror.
His comment was mind blowing....He said that he was so shocked at her antics...he nearly dropped his razor into his coffee!!!

He couldn't work out why the radio crew were laughing so hard.

Anyway...All of the things you've mentioned do my head in... but recently a daft woman driver was in the left hand lane at the roundabout to turn off at the right (with no indicators on.) I was in the central lane to go straight on.....suddenly she starts sounding her horn cause I had cut her off!!!
I may be many things....but mind reading aint one of my hidden gifts but I was in the right lane....So I guess that bugs me...Folk in the wrong lane at roundabouts!

My most annoying thing with over drivers is the people who plod along at 30 in a national speed limit area...

other than that... why do you always get stuck behind a tractor when your in a serious rush?

Driving the wrong way along a motorway...have seen it happen.
Using a mobile whilst driving, especially drivers of big artic's.
And parking so close to the car next to it that its impossible to open driver/passenger door, that happened to me in Tesco's, had to get the owner tannoyed and was late for picking my daughter up from first day at pre-school....was fuming!

People who pull out of their driveways without looking, or who sit blocking the whole road waiting for a passenger.
The worst offence on the road is a general lack of consideration for other road users.... I don't want to get started as I feel a bout of road rage coming on and I'm not even in the car....

those who park by the handicap space, for van accessible vehicles (and its not even a parking spot)

Oh so many things... agree with everyone.

But THE worst, the one that freaks me out beyond belief is the parents who let their small children stand on the front seat. It sooo dangerous. They could be driving slowly and still hurt their kids, if they stoped suddenly. They should just take the extra minute and strap the kids in safely.
