I don't know where these rumours start... No, it will not cause cancer, at least not any more than anything else in your life!

I have used Neet and Nair for over 25 years on my legs and no problems, if it caused cancer I think there would have to be a warning on it. I think yr friends may just be pulling your (hairy) leg.

Go for it! If you're really worried, though, you can use wax or sugar - both natural products that will not cause any problems although they do sting a little.

There is a variety of cancer called 'skin cancer', which may be caused by 'bad' creams! But the probability is very low, because of defence systems in-built in us, humans!

One of those "defense systems" that we humans have develooed is called hair. Depilatories dissolve the hair shaft. If it is capable of that, I dont understand why everyone is so dismissive of the possibility that it may cause cabcer, or a myriad of other possible health risks. I say do your research and proceed with caution. My mother used hair relaxers for decades. These are weakened versions of depilatories. Is that the reason that she developed early onset dementia? Perhaps not. But allowing toxins to lie on the skin for a period of time does not seem to be a healthy choice.

Not really, but it may be irritant for the skin that will be sun exposed and because it's irritated ultraviolet rays can affected that skin area more than others and be more prone to generate skin cancer.
