If you are referring to the label "cached" that shows up under links from a search on a search engine, this refers to the fact that search engines scan and file copies of web pages in their own cache. This speeds up the search -- rather than scan the active net, the engine scans files on its own server. The link takes you to that version of the page, which may not be the current version, but it will get you there. To be sure you have the current version on screen, simply reload the page.

Cached, simply put, means "stored". The "cached" images on Google are stored copies / images of websites and web content. They can often be helpful if the site is down or unavailable, but cached images are only updated every do often. Not that reliable.

You can use a 'cached' link to highlight certain segmants of the link you are calling up that relate to the sublect you put in the search engine.

i know most all web browsers save "temporary internet files" to you drive so that the pictures and text of web pages is loaded onto your hard drive so that the next time you pull the page up it loads quicker. These temporary files are otherwise known as cache!
