ok, well assuming there is life after death it probably has to do with some kind of deity who has created life after death, since religion and life after death almost always seem to go hand in hand.

because you have desires left to be accompalished. Once your business with life is through...no desires left...you attain moksha also known as nirvana or salvation. After that you are never born and are one with the light of almighty.
