Temp lights come on to warn you of overheating of your cooling system by sensing overheating of coolant etc.You can have plenty of water in your radiator header tank but you can have blockages of water hoses...water galleries in your engine could be blocked and if your engine keeps cutting out it needs checking by a garage..No simple answer to this one I'm afraid !! For your own safety and the safety of others it needs checking by someone..either a friend who knows what they are doing or a local garage. These things if ignored can lead to serious injury or worse..No amount of money can replace your life or loss of limbs etc; Good luck !!

The temperature gauge is alerting you that the engine has exceeded "normal" engine temp. When this happens (overheats) the engine electronic sensors are unstable. Sensor inputs to the cars "engine control module" influence your cars driveability. You need to repair the temp. condition, this should normalize function of engine management. The repair might be a faulty engine thermostat, which should not be too costly! Good luck!

Sounds like it needs tuining, air and fuel mixture adjusting. citroens and peugeots are a pain for this. change the air filer your self. Few £ from motor factors. If that doesent work ask the garage for a fixed price before going ahead with them tuning it for you.

Other answers are too complicated. Your radiator might need cleaning. Go to any good shop and buy a "Radiator and Cooling circuit cleaning liquid". Add it to your antifreeze (or water) coolant and good luck. If light persists, u need to check the car by a mechanic.

you might also want to change the air filter.... I had this problem many years ago, it was like as soon as I braked the car stalled, I flushed my raditor, added clean boiled cooled water and antifreeze and also changed my air filter anf this seemed to do the trick...... if the garge option is too expensive can i suggest you buy a haynes manual.... great info, easy to follow and it gives you step by step details on how to do the jobs!!

Wiggle the wires under the bonnet. Lots of times it's a loose wire that causes these intermittent problems.

Sounds like your Giberator has come loose from the s46 panel or the sqiudge bolt on the under carriage has come loose which diverts the air flow in the carbonators "s" bend .
I would get under the and try mig welding a diverter to the gip spoke and greasing the monkey washers
Hope this helps
