I don't view it as an excuse to get bitchy, some women experience moodswings as a result of the hormonal fluctuations they're experiencing. It's not like most women (can't speak for all, maybe there are some cake takers out there) wake up and think, well, I'm getting my period in a day or two so why don't I just act like a royal *****?

So, can you show me 3 or 4 papers published in peer-reviewed journals that prove men have periods then? Love to know how that works since your reproductive ability isn't determined by a set cycle and you don't produce high levels of female hormones.

It's true that men experience some fluctuation in hormone levels throughout the course of the day, but it's not normal to be experiencing them as a monthly cycle - if you are I'd get down the doc sharpish.

Oh, and for the record, you do realise that Frankenstein is the doctor and not the monster, right?

This is a purely physical action, and also hormones are involved that cause such crankiness and irritability. As a women I do not wish to feel this way, however, have no control. It also causes pain, more or less is dependent upon the female and her personal chemistry.
Men go through a sort of mid-life crisis and may have mood swings however, I do not think that it is fair to compare to a women's menstrual cycle. Good luck and God bless

My word what a thing to ask!

Women can find keeping their temper under control before and during their menstrual cycle difficult due to massive hormonal upsets in their systems. All emotions tend to be heightened and mood swings occur, sometimes you can find yourself ecstatically happy for no reason during a period, other times you cry for hours because you've stubbed your toe or spilt some milk.

Also bleeding for a week isn't particularly pleasant. It's no wonder that we members of the fairer sex get a little antsy once a month.

Men get equally arsey and I'd like to know what their excuse is!

If only it was just an excuse to get moany!!! Unfortunatly we can't help it, its just something our bodies do to us. How would you like it if once every month for the next 40 or so years you had to put up with bad cramps, headaches, mood swings, and the fact that we bleed constantly for 5-7 days???? Its not a nice feeling. Give us some slack!

Let me tell you a little something, Mister.

When a woman gets her period, it usually goes like this.

First, PMS. we spend one day, angry for no reason, the next horny for no reason, than miserably depressed; we have one day where it clears up and BAM, got the curse.
But its really not just a BAM, and you've got it, its more like, someone takes a hot poker, shoves it into the small of your back, and tries to yank out your insides.
Then, you get bloated, constipated, diareah, not to mention you are literally bleeding from your crotch. You have horrible fatigue, but if you take the stupid pills we have to solve the problem, you cant drink caffine because it will make you irritable.
Tampons are uncomfortable, pads are messy, you spend 5 days feeling disgusting, you cant even comfortably have sex, and then, after wards, you listen to insensitive jokes from men, accusing you of having your period everytime youre in a bad mood, because of course, we dont get angry unless we're menstrating.

So imagine for a second, that you are your wife, and you have side splitting pains, fatigue, irritability, your bloated, and gross, and your stupid husband/boyfriend, acts like HES THE VICTIM, even though he isnt in any pain.

So dont try to empathize with women about your "periods" being cranky for a few days is NOTHING compared to what we have to put up with, not to mention the fact that we have it from 5th grade till we're in our 40's-50's, in the mix of child birth, and then we get to look foreward to menopause.

A period isnt an excuse to be crabby, no, if you ask me, its a pretty good ******* reason to be.

Dear Mr. Sensitivity:

Did it ever occur to you that you might be part of the reason she gets so bitchy?

Women face real problems with the onset and during their menstrual cycle. Some symptoms include: breast swelling and tenderness, fatigue and trouble sleeping, upset stomach, bloating, constipation or diarrhea, headache, appetite changes or food cravings, joint or muscle pain, tension, irritability, mood swings, or crying spells, anxiety or depression, and trouble concentrating or remembering.

If you had to deal with that month in and month out, you might be cranky during your period also.

And no, some men don't turn into Frankenstein when they get their "periods". They stay that way 24/7.

Maybe you should have asked, "What can I do to make the woman I love life's easier during her period?"

What a pity you will never be able to experience what a woman has to go through. You are in pain, you have the inconveniece of having to use sanitary towels, you are bleeding, your back aches, you have to work for a living and worst of all a male who wants to have sex . When you need a little bit of love and understanding the idiot wants you to jump up and down serving him instead of him doing the good deed by making her a cup of coffee . Try a little tenderness and be kind. Since when does men have periods ?????? New one to me that.

Men have a sort of period, but not a "period". Learn biology, pal. During her period, a women can experience a severe loss is serotonin ("cranky and bitchy"), she can become anemic, have lower back and abdomen pain, feel cold, vomit and have diarrhea, sometimes pass out, etc. So you stop your bitching, and I am amazed a woman has sex with you.
Have a special day.

lol this is such a bloke question, yep men due have periods to rebuild the sperm and have periods not as such every month by a certain amount of weeks were they become aggressive and annoyed very easily.when im on the tym of the month i am the same as your girlfriend during that tym of the month, but i also have other complications, it because a girl you have to understand has to go through pain everymonth, has to feel ill and uncomfortable for a long time and its a horrible feeling, this is caused by the hormones. some women arnt as bad as others, i myself become very horrible and bitchy and aggressive, crnt be helped, just leave her be.

it's not an excuse. well maybe for some women. but i am not one of them. let me tell you a story off a few years ago. one of my friends started her periods before all the rest of us and was all cranky we told her it was all in her head and she went mental and we fell out. not long after i started mine and i appologised to her because i was wrong you really do tend to be more emotional and snappy. because your body is going through a big thing.

and yes men do have hormone cycles as well. i'll never take that away from you guys but you don't have the pysical things to go through as well. wich really don't help moods. maybe when shes snappy and stressed you could get her a samll presant or a nice gesture.
