That depends on what your definition of a "real man" is.
If you see something positive (in your opinion) that he likes, encourage him. But don't force anything onto him. People develop their own likes and dislikes and being surrounded in something he hates may have a negative effect on him in the future.
How about you let him develop on his own?

Depends on how you define a "real man". If you mean a man who is "whole" as a person; who has compassion and respect for others; who is manly without being chauvinistic; a leader not a bully; then the best way would be to lead by example.
If you define a real man as some beer-lugging, chauvinistic, insensitive, "big-chested small-di*ked" b*stard of a man, then DON'T!

Real men aren't all automatons or neanderthals.
Try BEING a real man and set a good example. Hate, anger, violence, hypocrisy and bigotry are NOT values for anyone!

a real man? if he has a penis and considers himself a male then he IS a real man. maybe it would be best for you to culture yourself into being a real parent...love your son for who he is and not what you want him to be.

are you asking from a chinese perspective (your name sounds putonghua)? or from a western standpoint...
I would say always lead your son by example..children learn to grow up being what example is set for them...you sound as if you are already on your way..but I am not quite certain of your definition of ' real man'....if you mean how can you keep your son from being gay...you can't...that's something he either is or isn't and it's already determined...what you can do is to maintain a loving relationship with him whatever is sexual preference is.

He is who he is. However, positive male figures in his life as opposed to rotten influences will make a difference in his attitude and values.

Let him do his own thing, time will take him to his chosen way of life. You can offer advice but don't interfere

Allow him to find his own way as much as possible. The more you interfere, the worse it will be for both of you.
