ipod help!!!?

Ok so I have an Ipod. The Regular ones that came out before anything else. Which means 20Gigs, non-color screen, and all that jazz. I have over 800 songs on it. I've had it since christmas, and it's worked great. But now ALL MY SONGS ARE GONE!!! for some reason i don't have songs on the ipod. They're on iTunes but when i turn on my ipod theres nothing! no music no nothing!! I'm trying the help and support site but it's not helping please!! Help me!
