First of course to prevent pimples, watch what you eat, no oily or fatty foods, etc, esp late at night. (If I eat a snicker bar as a late night snack, I'll break out in pimples in the morning!) Also, water is great.
Second, if you do have pimples, do NOT wash your face more than twice a day or you'll irritate your skin. Try to stay away from lotions, foundations, etc, as this can also irritate you. If you do need moisturizer, just apply to focused areas like around the eyes and stuff.
Third, there's alot of things you can try and you just have to see what works best for you. There's fresh aloe vera gel. Cut the leaf in half and apply the inside gel. If your pimples are really bad, you can tape a small section of the leaf to your skin overnight with skin tape (it can be uncomfortable). PURE honey, left over night. Mint toothpaste, left for five minutes. Wipe off and repeat as needed (really works, but it sometimes stings.) A fresh lettuce leaf rubbed over your skin can help combat oiliness. Also very effective is a cloth bag filled with oatmeal. Wet and use as a wash cloth to wash your face. Just be sure to empty the bag out at least once a week.
Fourth, when your face clears up, celebrate it...though preferably not with chocolate. Then do your best to keep it that way by eating healthy and washing regularly. Drink water!!

It sounds like you need the benefits of oil control products. The following will help control breakouts and maintain fresk looking makeup all day long. You need acne treatment gel - clinically proven to dry and clear acne blemishes and allow the skin to heal. You would also benefit from the oil mattifier- it is lightweight formula that dries to a natural matte finish, instantly aborbing oil to control shine for at least 8 hours. Then you could put on a light foundation and eye makeup. You can find these products on my website - marykay.com/sallyacors
