when my 'friend' Anita* told me that Elaine* had told Anita* that I did a bad job. Why did my 'friend' tell me this? If Elaine* wasn't happy, she should have told me about it. Is Anita* a trouble maker?

This is a problem you face when you work with other ladies. Bitchiness. Dont rise to it, and dont trust what so called work friends tell you, most of the time, its for their own gain and not yours. Keep you head held high and get on and do your job, and at the end of the day.......leave it all behind...it will still be there tomorrow.

may be Anitas got the wrong end of the stick.and your a little over stressed with the extra workload and your friend anita, talk to elaine because she will be picking up a bad vib and may not even know what its all about.she may have said something in passing about an aspect of your work and may be annita though it was something it was not.think about it if your doing your best at work and covering others workloads your bound to do things that are'nt up to your best,i'm sure you can think of a person you think hasn't pulled there wieght of done there best, we all do sometimes.talk to elaine ask her about some of the things you've both done over the past few months and see if you can work it out. you've both had a lot on and may be able to help each other through an obvious bad patch. We are all guilty of taking each other for granted sometimes may be thats all it is.

Elaine was at fault saying that to Anita she should have come to you in private, if Anita is telling the truth yes shes stirring things up and has hurt your feelings but you know where you stand with Elaine now I would confront her and ask her why she did not come to you in the first place. Who else has she told?

In a similar situation to you right now myself. Anita is a troublemaker without a doubt, if you had done a unsatisfactory job, your line manager I'm sure would have raised this with you. Ignore Anita, do not involve Elaine either. Go to your manager and explain (in confidence) what has happened and ask them to advise you on how to resolve this matter. Good luck. My place of employment is like this.

u need to ask elaine wether she said it or not and why she was unhappy about it. If she did say it then Anita is being a real friend by telling u. If she didn't say it then Anita is not worth being a friend with at all

As long as your boss is happy and satisfied with your work, it doesn't matter Anita and Elaine say and think. Who asked them anyway?

when in doubt,,assume the best,,maybe the job you did was so good she became a little jealous of the fact you can do it as well as she and she doesnt like that so proceeded to badmouth you,,seriously,if the job you did was so bad surely you wouldnt have been given the extra work in the first place or you boss would have told you how better to do it in her absence,,dont assume all words spoken are the truth because they arent.you know what to say next time she asks though ,dont you?
