I have outside facilities like a court yard, but I am hoping to send it somewhere, where a prof can dry it for me. Anybody know anyone who can do this for me at low costs?

The Baby Diaper Secret One of the most common applications for super absorbent polymers is their use as the water-absorbing ingredient in baby diapers. Go and get some cheap diapers open a load them up place ur carpet on the face down on them them place something heavy like books or anything thats is heavy to press the carpet onto the diapers and leave over nite. U should have a dry carpet. It should be cheaper than send a heavy wet carpet to get dried. It might be worth while cutting the edges away from the diaper first leaving the abosrbing pad intact to get the most out of it.

That must of been hard work, It will be quite heavy so it would be expensive to send off and it would probably smell by the time it got there. I would keep pressing towels on it to get as much of the moisture off as possible then hang it outside if thats not possible hang over a chair in front of the radiator or get the hairdryer on for bit

Hang it over a deck railing for a few days and hopr to god it don't rain...It's easier to clean it if it's outside on the ground and you have a stiff brush with a long handlem and a hose to your access. You wet it down then apply cleaning soulution to it then scrub away and rinse and hang over the deck to dry for a couple days

You will have to hope for good drying weather. I suspect it is pretty heavy with water which will make it difficult to move, and the longer it is full of water, the smellier it will get!!

You will be very fortunate if your carpet has not shrunk. They are not supposed to be cleaned by submersion in water, but by surface cleaning in situ. Just leave it outside to dry.
