do not take any notice of them. there is just one thing to call these people and that is ignorant. the only ppl that can worship the devil are bloody christians, as wiccan, pagans etc... do not believe in it. be happy with your beliefs and who you are. feel free to wear a pentacle, as it is a good symbol that will give you protection.
really do not even consider these ignorant people.
all the best mate.
(i was called jew once because of my pentacle, now that just shows you their IQ) xxx

I've never been laughed at for wearing a pentacle. I have for being a Wiccan, but at the time, I didn't wear one. (This was High School.)
I've been called a "devil worshipper" and it angers me sometimes, not from strangers, but only when it's from family. The fact that they don't trust me enough to make my own choices, hurts.
Sophia, is that the reason, I'm often asked if it's a Star of David? Because of people too afraid to be honest? If you can't be honest about it, wear one of the versions of the pentacle, that doesn't look like one, or choose another Wiccan Symbol.

Hate is a very strong emotion for a child! A child is what this person is if they don't know what you are about! Don't hate them because it only causes negativity in your life! Smile, and I know this is difficult, but laugh with them! You aren't laughing at yourself but laughing because it makes you feel stronger in your educated knowledge! You know something they don't know! Get what I'm trying to say?
Getting mad and hating someone because they don't understand or are ignorant is silly. If you are that upset, re-think what you believe and be very sure that what you believe is truly strengthening you as a follower! People tend to laugh at those who don't believe, think, act, dress, worship, eat and talk like they do! However, this is where you should find your strength! You have a faith and belief that allows you to see past all of the idiosyncrasies and see what they really are and this makes you stronger.
It's time to light a candle or two and bring out the cleansing spell, little one! Breath deeply and relax! They got what they wanted from you and you walked right into it with your eyes wide open! Feel sympathy for those who don't know and teach those who ask! Be wise little one, because this will make you a great Teacher one day. And the first step to wisdom is self control!
Have a great day, and a wonderful Harvest!
Blessed Be

Someone laughing at you might hurt your feelings, but there are millions of fellow Wiccans and Witches out there proudly wearing their pentacles and pentagrams, displaying their faith whatever the reaction they receive.
I am a Witch and proudly wear my pentagram whatever reaction I get from it. I don't particularly care about the negative reactions of ignorant people because I don't wear it as a fashion statement, it is a statement of my faith and I wear it as a daily connection to my faith, to the Lord and Lady.
I doubt our Christian contemporaries react to laughter at their wearing of crosses, the cross is a personal symbol of their faith that they like to carry with them, a tangible reminder that Jesus walks with them at all times.
I've had much worse called at me in the street than pure laughter! All you have to do if someone calls you a devil worshipper is calmly explain that you do not believe in the devil as it is a Christian concept completely without analogy in Wicca and Witchcraft.
A good Wiccan name comes from following your path with all your heart and remembering that; "Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill, An it harm none do what ye will."

When you chose to follow the path of the wise you had to know that there would be ignorant people who do not understand what you are doing. Often it is not really their fault as ignorance is just a lack of knowledge and they might just not know any better.
On the other hand there are people who are cruel and believe that their way is the only way. Sad to say, but most of these people will proclaim themselves to be Christian. It is necessary for them to denounce other religions in order for them to feel that their form of worship is superior.
These ignorant people do NOT ruin your good Wiccan name. You live as an example of what a good Wiccan is. They only embarrass themselves by showing their ignorance. If they truly understood the significance of a pentacle they would not be making fun of it. Or, as in the case of those who truly do it to be cruel, just feel sorry for them, they are the losers.
Congratulations for finding the way so early in your life. Many of us have had to suffer for many years before finding the religion of the old ones.
Rejoice in what you know, continue to study. Read everything positive that you can find and continue to learn. Set an example in your community and in your school of what a Pagan is and what we really believe in. Feel free to write to me if I can be of any guidance to you. Remember also that when the student is ready the teacher will appear.
Blessed Be, Merry Meet and Merry Part

I would try to educate them by telling them it is no different than a Christian wearing a cross to show their devotion to their religion, and that the devil is not the object or person of your devotions. Some people are ignorant to anything not familiar to them and unless others try to educate them the ignorance will continue. You may not change the way they think but at least you will know that you did something to try and teach them about your practices.
I hope this helps and enjoy your celebration tomorrow.

Its the same as if someone laughed at you for wearing a star of david, a cross, or a bindi on your forehead.
Point this fact out to them.
Or don't bother, because everyone has a right to chose their religon (whether its a mainstream one, or a minority/alternative one, or atheism) and anyone who feels that they are entitled to judge or criticise you for this choice is clearly an intolerant narrow-minded little person.

i do not see it as ruining our Wiccan label. because we are not doing something. that is reminiscent of if someone got here as a lot as me and suggested *you're wearing wager jeans... you may want to be a assassin* (surely, it really is what they say). contained in the best, they are the only's getting ruined... they finally end up searching like hateful liars... because there is not something that backs this up. in basic terms because someone wears a pentacle does not make one a devil-worshipper. religious propaganda seems the hardest to get rid of. we've a more effective perfect time wiping the Political BS sparkling than we do with this. yet, as I suggested, they are those who will finally wreck themselves. in case you spread lies about a set of human beings for lengthy adequate, someone is going to ask for evidence........ and they might want to not have any outdoors of the rumors human beings like to spread. So, even as this does take position to me, I aspect sparkling ask "the position's the evidence?" and then tell them about the e book Hammer of the Witches (i visit't spell the call of that e book, i will screw it up for particular). once you study that e book, then you definitely'll understand the position all of those concepts comes from. 2 Roman Catholic clergymen and a pair of Popes that sponsored up the idea of killing human beings in accordance to crap they made as a lot as initiate with.

People laugh at me all the time. I just "shake it off" and go on. I'm a Christian and have been called a devil worshiper. I just shake that off, too. We can't pay too much attention to people who point the finger and laugh. I like what Jesus said, "Why do you behold the splinter that is in your brother's eye when you have a beam in your own?" Hypocrite, first remove the beam from your own eye and then you can see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother's eye." (I paraphrased) But basically, I believe that to mean that when I have become perfect, then I can start telling others how to be perfect. And it's going to take a LONG time before I become perfect. :) Peace.

i would feel pity for them because they are misinformed and ignorant. doubly so, because:
1. wiccans dont believe in the devil.
2. if they laugh at someone else out of spite, then they will have a hard time through life.
dont worry about it. just pity them and move on.
