Well you know him better than any of us, But does he like car racing? If so ( & he has,nt got one already ) get him a Scalextric.
Also 13 is a good time for someone to take up fishing.
Or even some fitness equipment.
Dont go for a play station there are too many FAT kids out there.
A bike is a good idea too or even a football & some boots

Buy him some X-box games or a Playstation Games
Wrap it and surprise him early in the morning with that gift
or
you could get him to go to a place where he really likes to celebrate his birthday
or
Give him money to spend it
after all its his special day

I got my brother last year who is about the same age one of those game stop credit cards. Its prepaid and then I can just fill it up whenever its a holiday or something. He said that was the best.

Tickets to a concert he really wants to see? Take him sale shopping for games and clothes? A bike? I've never really been givn presents; I always had money instead so am not very inspiring...

well since i wasn't 13 too long ago i suggest some type of game system or a game for that system. if he's not into video games then try giving him something like a cd player or mp3 player.

an x box 360 and lego star wars for a game. I bought one for my bro, he was very happy. He is 15.
Ok then just take him shopping, and make it all about him and then take him for a pizza. He will like that.
