Supposedly, it is to catch your attention. I suppose this technique works because you noticed that they use misspellings.

It both attracts the attention (even if only to irritate!) and it is also possible that a product with the correct spelling has already got a trade name against it.

You can't trademark the common words. If you do you have to prefix with another trademark word like Microsoft Windows. Mispelled words are not considered as common words, so they can be used for trademarks.

I think it's an equal balance of attracting attention (misspelled words ALWAYS get my attention) and having a name unique enough to trademark.

The incorrect spelling or grammar is supposed to be eye-catching. Once you see it, you are supposed to remember it because it is different.
